Crazy Katsu (Maginhawa St)

I was able to find time to eat here when I took a leave. I was intrigue with the reviews about the taste and the price of their food.

I got here around 3pm on a weekday so there's not a lot of people inside. I ordered their chicken katsu and gyoza.

The chicken katsu serving is really quite big and I think it could serve about two. I liked the sweetness and spiciness of the sauced. The katsu is served with chopped cabbage and a lot of chilis, so if you are not into the hotter side of things it is better to take them away first. The chicken katsu is all crispy without that typical breading from the japanese katsu. This one has crispy and tasty breading. Perfect for rice.

As a side dish, I order a serving of gyoza. I think they served five pieces of gyoza which is not bad for two also. I love how freshly cooked their food are. Caution the gyoza are so hot inside.

Overall the place is nice and the pricing is also good considering that my bill was around 300 and I am so full. You can order an extra rice if you are with someone.

The place is located in 81 Maginhawa St. Teachers Village Diliman, QC.
