Food Street Crawling, Yabu Style

SM Southmall has been a dining go to now that it has its Food Street. It is a compilation of the most in demand restaurant in one strip. What's more cool is that is located at the back of the mall with easy access and very convenient. One of the restaurants in their food street is Yabu: House of Katsu. I loved Yabu eversince I tried out one of their branch in Robinsons Magnolia. That tender, juicy and thick cut of Katsu that is so mouth watering. I always leave their store full stomach and satisfied.
For today, I am going to try out their Hire Katsu Set, Salmon Don and their Gyu Don.
Since Yabu is famous for their Katsu, we are surely not going to miss that. We had their Hire Katsu Set which is one of the best seller of the restaurant. Their Katsu Set offers unlimited Japanese rice, miso soup, Japanese pickles, organic cabbage and fruit slices. I liked their katsu because it is tender and it is thickly cut. I also like this cut without pork fat. This is definitely the front runner of Yabu. My foodie note? Definitely masarap without any reservation.
Aside from pork cutlets, they also offers Salmon Don for fish lovers. The dish includes a serving of a thick salmon steak on top of  Teriyaki flavored sticky rice. This tender, juicy and flavorful serving is also perfect for your big appetite because it comes with unlimited organic cabbage, miso soup, pickles and slices of fruits. Just be careful because the stone bowl is hot to keep your food warm. Definitely a Must Try, definitely masarap without reservations.
If you're not into pork or fish, Yabu still got their Gyu Don for you. Flavorful stir fried beef with onions on top of their flavorful sticky rice. Served with an egg on top, this dish became more exciting when we pour on the special sauce giving it a little sweetness (Was that honey?). This dish is masarap without any reservations.
Overall, the restaurant offers a very nice dining experience. The ambiance was great and the tables and seats are comfortable. The food are also good and the servings are generous, some of it are even refillable. You will always leave this restaurant on full tummy. My personal rating for the restaurant is a 4 out of 5.
Special thanks to Yabu and SM Southmall for the Food Street experience.
