Memoirs from a Food Crawl, Florabel
Food crawling in a new place is exciting and satisfying too. You can try different dishes you haven't tried or maybe introduce a new dish to your friends. It's always good to plan your food crawl so you'll not waste your time looking for restaurants around the area.
After four restaurants, it's now time for desserts. Always fulfilling to have a good dessert at the end of every satisfying meal. We ended up trying Florabel after a little deliberation. Florabel is a restaurant that's like a secret garden inside. The interiors looks like it came from a very ancient city somewhere else.
We had their Frozen Brazo de Mercedes and their Chocnut Torte.
Frozen Brazo de Mercedes (P225.00), layers of bruleed frozen meringue, custard and a graham crust. I liked the burnt flavor on the top giving a bitter sweet taste. I'm really not a fan of Brazo de Mercedes because I only like the custard filling. Their custard is nice because it's not too sweet. Masarap without reservations.
Chocnut Torte (P245.00), mild chocolate mousse topped whit chocnut bars. The chocolate is mildy sweet and you can also taste the chocnut in between the cake. There's also additional popcorn pieces that adds texture to the dessert, though the popcorn will not be crispy after a few minutes. Masarap without reservations.
My personal rating to the restaurant:
