Peperoni Pizzeria (Uptown Place Mall)
Peperoni Pizzeria is a Singaporean Pizza restaurant under the Les Amis group. They opened their first Philippine branch last December 23, 2016 at the 3rd Floor of Uptown Place Mall, 36th Street Corner 9th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City. The restaurant is well known for its 21" XXL sized Pizza as well as its other Italian dishes.
I was lucky enough to received an invite from Zomato Philippines to try out Peperoni Pizzeria. It was an event hosted by Zomato Philippines for the restaurant together with some other foodies. For tonight, we're trying out 5 different pizza out of their 15 flavors.
We started the night with a serving of their Funghi Portobello Con Pollo (P455.00). The dish is a big serving of deep fried whole portobello mushroom with sauteed chicken fillets in red wine sauce. I love the rich umami taste of this dish. The dish is actually good even without the chicken fillets on top. The chicken fillets are tender and well flavored too. Though I just think that the dish becomes a bit salty after a while. Dish can be shared by up to 2 people. This is masarap with a bit of reservation, probably you should eat this while it is hot.
Next one on our table is a serving of their Alle Vongole Pasta (P420.00). The dish is made up of angel hair pasta with venus clams in white wine sauce. The soup base of the pasta is good though I can taste a bit of burnt garlic. The clams were good and the pasta is well done. The serving of this dish can be good for 2 people. Masarap with a bit reservation.
Our first XXL pizza for tonight is their Prosciutto Crudo di Parma (P1,250.00). Parma ham with rocket salad. The flavor of the ham really complimented the arugula on top of the pizza. The ham is a bit salty on its own but if you ate it all together, then you'll get a balance flavor. I just think that it needed a bit more parmesan cheese just for added flavor. Masarap with a bit of reservation for me.
The next XXL pizza for tonight is their Diavola (1,250.00). This is their version of the classic peperoni pizza. Peperoni toppings were good and the tomato based sauce is just right. One of the chef's recommendation on their menu. Masarap without reservations.
Next on the list is their Pancetta (P1,250). Combination of cured bacon, sliced tomatoes and soft egg. First thing that you need to do is to pop the egg and spread the yolk while the pizza is still hot. Just like what we do with the egg on top of our sisig. The egg gives the pizza a more richer taste to it. The cured ham has just the right saltiness in it. Masarap without reservations and my favorite for tonight.
Next one is their Quattro Formagi (1,250.00). Includes mozzarella, taleggio, scamorza and gorgonzola cheese. Perfect for the cheese lovers out there. Masarap without reservations.
The last pizza we're having for tonight is their Bacon Miele (1,250.00). Combination of bacon, honey, fresh oregano and gouda cheese. I liked it that it was served last because it taste sweet because of the honey. The bacon and the cheese gives the balance of saltiness with the sweetness of honey. Masarap without reservations.
For our dessert, we had a serving of their Tiramisu (P295.00). Savoiardi, layered in mascarpone flavored with aromatic coffee and kahlua. A light dessert that I find very soft from the inside but still it is good. Masarap with a bit of reservation.
My personal foodie rating for the restaurant:
