Midas Cafe has been awarded by Philippine Tatler as one of the best restaurants in the country not just once but four times. Who could say "No" when you got an invite from Zomato Philippines for a Foodie Meet Up in Midas Cafe? Not me.
Located at the Second Level of Midas Hotel and Casino along Roxas Boulevard, Midas Cafe boast a very cool and classy ambiance. Hotel elegance carried over to the cafe complimenting the whole dining experience. The restaurant implements smart casual dress code for its diners adding more sophisticated atmosphere. No Smoking rule is implemented inside the restaurant but there's a designated area for those who love to smoke after a big meal.
The schedule of the restaurant dining is from 6AM to 10AM for Breakfast, 11:30AM to 2:30PM for Lunch and 6PM to 10:30PM for dinner. Their buffet is priced at Php2,088 nett as of writing. They also offer ala carte serving of some signature dishes such as Bistek tagalog, Kare-kare, Laing, Midas Fried Chicken and Pinakbet Lechon kawali.
The buffet is divided into some food station and the first thing that came into my mind is that the buffet was not that extravagant. I just came from a Vikings Buffet few days ago so there's a bit of comparison. Although I knew that the two is playing on a different league.
Appetizer Station, includes tasty selection of cold cuts, prosciutto and roasted baguette, breads, cheese, nuts and raisins.
Salad Station, salad greens and vegetables with choices of dressings and other toppings.
Carving Station, one of my favorite place in their buffet. The roasted prime rib is tender and very tasty. I've been here for three times because it's really good.
Japanese Station, great selection of maki, sushi, sashimi and Japanese mixed greens.
Chinese Station, a place for hot dimsum, noodle soup and some other favorites.
Pasta Station, some of your favorite pasta dishes prepared in just a minute.
Western Station, chafing dishes, meat and seafoods that's ready for grilling.
Dessert Station, full of crepes, cakes , pies, tarts, chocolate truffles and the Pinoy's favorite halo-halo.
What I had:
The food in Midas Cafe buffet were really good. I really like their Prime Rib which I must say is really tasty. The grilling station with all the skewered meat and the seafood are also delicious. I also liked their sashimi as well as their beef rice. Everything in the buffet is really good, the place is more on "Quality over Quantity".
My personal rating for the restaurant:
Midas Cafe is truly a feast of taste and flavors that everyone would love. For dining reservations you may contact them thru 02 902 0100 local 1187.
